Demand for Ploughing exhibitor space

Demand for exhibition space at September’s National Ploughing Championships, in Ratheniska, Co Laois, has surged.

The National Ploughing Association said the demand is unprecedented, with a waiting list in place since May.

NPA managing director, Anna May McHugh, said they were delighted so many exhibitors have booked to come to the September 22-24 event, because that is a seal of approval. There will be 120 exhibitors in an extended trade area, plus hundreds more in additional specialist pavilions.

More than 70 small businesses will exhibit at a new ‘village’, which is being built by the Network of Local Enterprise Offices.

NPA president, James Sutton, said there is no doubt the entrepreneurial spark is thriving in Ireland.

Hundreds of acres will be ploughed at the event, with 350 competitors from around the country.

Some 279,000 people attended last year’s championships, which were held at the same venue. There were 1,400 exhibitors.
