Much to learn from bad and good years

Strong milk prices and the prospect of quotas ending injected huge enthusiasm into the dairy industry last year, but poorer milk prices this year have perhaps brought a more realistic outlook.

The big drop in the milk price is in line with the volatility forecast for dairying.

But dairying prospects are still positive.
