John Comer, President of the dairy farmers’ grouping, said the rules for low emission slurry spreading, for example, were too inflexible.

He said the 100% low emission spreading requirement is too high, and a farmer should be allowed switch to the traditional method in the event of ground conditions not being suitable for the heavier low emission equipment.
