Muskerry to rally the troops for conference
Hosted by Muskerry Macra, the conference, better known as ‘The Rally’, is the biggest social, agricultural, and sporting event in the organisation’s calendar.
Co-Op SuperStores is the retail division of Dairygold Co-Operative Society and has 39 stores across Cork, Clare, Limerick, and Tipperary.
www.coopsuperstores.ie offers nationwide delivery of the store’s extensive range of farm, home, garden, and pet care products.
“The Rally in the Lee Valley” will be held in Cork’s Rochestown Park Hotel from October 23 to 26 and will offer an opportunity for thousands of members from across the country to gather with their peers.
Speaking at the launch, John O Carroll, head of retail at Co-Op Superstores said: “We at coopsuperstores.ie are delighted to sponsor this year’s Macra na Feirme Annual Conference in Cork.
“As Ireland’s largest online country store, we are proud to be associated with this national event and what is has to offer its members.
“The move to the online sphere has been a natural progression for our business as young farmers become busier and more tech-savvy than ever.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for members to come together and share learnings and experiences as farming evolves through a period of rapid change. I wish the organising committee every success with The Rally.”
Last year, the conference was hosted by Laois Macra at the Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise, with Cork’s Freemount Macra named AIB Club of the Year.
In 2013, The Rally was of particular significance for Muskerry.
The regions’s Berrings Macra took the Club of the Year title — the highest accolade a club can achieve — at the event in the Mount Wolseley hotel in Tullow, Co Carlow.
This year, attendees will have plenty to do over the weekend, with fancy dress, farm walks, the agricultural conference, an alternative tour, and banquet all being planned.
Margaret Galvin, rally committee chairperson said: “This will be a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase the strength of our members and the Lee Valley area.”
