75 acres of borderlands for sale in Knocknagree
The property is to be sold by public auction next month in Killarney. As well as the rarity of the size of such a holding coming up for auction, it ticks a number of very important boxes that should combine to attract a large grouping of interested parties.
“It’s at a crossroads,” says selling agent Tom Spillane, “so it has ample road frontage onto the main Boherbue road and another public side road. It also has a single-storey house that’s in need of renovation and some farm buildings in a fair state of repair.”
As regards the land quality, 18 acres of it are in forestry that was planted in 2010.
This brings in an annual premium of €3,200 with another 15 years remaining.
The remainder of the land, however, is described as “top-quality grazing land”:
“There are 55 acres in grass,” says Tom, “well laid-out and level and they’re all workable fields of top-quality grasslands.”
The auction that will decide its value starts at 3pm on Friday April 17 at the Royal Hotel Killarney.
The price guide of €600,000 seems a reasonable one, all elements considered.
