42 ha of commonage enough for GLAS €5,000

IFA Hill Committee Chairman Pat Dunne has demanded that planners charge less wherever a commonage farmer can achieve the maximum payment of €5,000 — because the commonage management plan (CMP) is effectively providing the individual plan for the farmer.
He has called on Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney to ensure that farms with significant commonage, plus special areas of conservation (SACs), qualify for the GLAS plus €2,000 top-up, similar to endangered bird species areas.
