Beef prices at the factories are coming under slight pressure this week, for the first time in 2015, with a hint of easing prices being aired by some processors.

Now that the spring beef forum meeting — which delivered very little to farmers — is behind them, and prices are running at 45-50 cents/kg higher than the bottom of the trade last autumn, most processors have uniformly stalled the upward movement in base prices this week.

Some have tried to reduce the cost of stock by pulling quoted prices back as much as 5 cents/kg.
