Bids flood in for finely developed fields in Co Cork

The bids are coming in and the guide price has already been reached for this attractive 27-acre holding — which is laid out in two fields in a beautiful setting of Coolkelure outside of Dunmanway, Co Cork.

According to selling agent for the property, Henry O’Leary, the quality of land here is “as good as you’ll get in this area” and has always been farmed for pasture.

The access is very good and although there is a right of way going between the two fields of the land, this is purely and solely for access to the state forestry that bounds it.

Dunmanway is about 7km away and the property is in a very tranquil setting close to Coolkelure Lake.

Indeed, interest from a hobby farmer has not been ruled out and there is potential for the client looking for the bolthole too, with the ruins of a farmhouse located in the highest corner of the land.

“The public road runs along one boundary and there are views of Coolkelure Lake from it as well.

“We expected predominately local interest… Maybe not enough time has gone by for locals to put their hands up just yet but the interest in it at the moment has been from West Cork but not local.”

Bids have already reached the guide price of €200,000 (€7,400/acre) but the property will remain for sale for another couple of weeks before closing, the agent says.
