Carbery plant set for over 1m cheese packs per day

Carbery Group’s cheese plant at Ballineen in West Cork will have a daily throughput equivalent to over one million retail packs, following the recent installation of eight new cheese making vats.

The new vats were manufactured in Minnesota, USA, and are the first of their kind to be used in Europe.

They are part of the final phase of a €19 million investment which Carbery is making to optimise its efficient handling of greater volumes of milk after EU dairy quotas are abolished next April.
