Louth farmer takes top Goldcrop grower award

Louth tillage farmer John McGrane from Dunleer has been awarded the overall quality seed grower award by seed assemblers and distributors Goldcrop.

John McGrane’s winning crop was LUMOS Winter Wheat, which produced a yield of 11.75 tonnes per hectare (4.7 tonnes per acre) with moisture of 16.5 % and a bushel weight of 76.1KPH.

Goldcrop has more than 170 professional seed growers throughout the country. Many of these growers have been producing seed for Goldcrop for over 20 years.
