13 acres of ‘good quality‘ land for €156,000 or so

The property has long road frontage and is 5km north of Bandon.
The land, according to selling agent, Ernest Forde, is of “good quality”. It is, in fact, classified as organic land — which is rare.
However, such is the appetite within the commercial market for land, that he believes the new owners are unlikely to buy it for its organic status. Its relatively modest size will attract interest from a maximum range of potential buyers. “As it stands, there are good enquiries, at the moment, from hobby farmers to local farmers looking to extend their holding,” says Mr Forde.
The convenience of roadside access is an important selling feature of the property, too. There is water supply and electricity on the land, and it has a stream running through it — aesthetically pleasing and perhaps an important back-up water supply.
There is also a house, which may be sold separately, along with 0.75 acres. It’s structurally sound, with the essential services, says Mr Forde, who is expecting bids of €100,000 that for the house part of the property.
The land is within commutable distance of Cork City (about 20 minutes away) and is expected to get offers in excess of €12,000 per acre.
“There are,” says Mr Forde, “strong enquiries on both lots individually, as well as on the whole lot.”
