Ireland 6.93% over quota as milk supplies boosted by good weather
This is a rise on the end of August figure of 6.44% and is well above the 0.42% over-quota position of this time last year.
Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney said he is aware of the factors, such as the good prices, the good weather, and increased cow numbers that have facilitated milk production this year. However, it remains critical that farmers take account of their milk quotas, in this final year of quotas.
