Bids of €12,000 an acre likely for prime farm in dairy area

Five maps have already been given out since this farm appeared on the paper last week and auctioneer, Michael O’Donovan of Sherry FitzGerald O’Donovan, hopes that momentum continues to the sale of a 79-acre farm at Ballyrusheen, Castlecor, Mallow, CoCork.

Described as a prime farm, in an intensive dairying area, the land is a retirement sale and offers a good addition to an existing farm or for a family enterprise.

Laid out in seven easily worked divisions and all in tillage, the land is good quality arable ground, says Michael O’Donovan and would be good for any farming enterprise.

It also comes with a large five-bed farmhouse, which will need modernisations, but which offers good space for a new owner.

The property comes with a good farm yard, including a four-column haybarn, a modern cattle shed of 60x30 with slatted tank, an open cattle shed of 60x40 with pen and crush, calf house, four-column covered silage pit with lean-to shed, garage and old stone outoffices.

Located in a highly intensive area, the farm is pegged at the €12,000 per acre mark, to include the residence and is for sale by private treaty.

“This a highly valuable farm in a central location convenient to Mallow, Kanturk, Buttevant, in the heart of excellent farming country,” says Michael O’Donovan.
