McDonald’s selects Kerry farm as flagship for sustainable production

The food service giant McDonald’s announced yesterday that it grew its exports of Irish dairy products to €88m in 2013, up from €74m in 2012.

It also purchased a total of €4m worth of Irish dairy produce in 2013 for consumption in its 85 restaurants on the island of Ireland, where it is now the third largest multinational employer with more than 4,500 employees.

The announcement was made as McDonald’s Restaurants of Ireland launched a partnership with Kerry Group to select a new European Dairy Flagship Farm in Milltown, Co Kerry, to showcase best-in-class sustainable milk production.
