Dairygold Food Ingredients UK was the top Irish winner in the 2014 International Cheese Awards at Nantwich in England.

After more than 200 judges sampled almost 4,500 cheeses, the Supreme Championship was won by Colston Bassett Dairy for their Whole Blue Stilton. The runner-up was Jaquin, exhibited by Bradburys, for their Goat Cheese Ash from the Loire Valley, Berry and Touraine areas of France.

The Kerrygold Trophy awarded annually for the best Irish Cheddar went to Dairygold Food Ingredients UK, also winner of the Cryovac Award for the best cheese with health benefits.

The Tetra Pak Tebel Award for the best extra mature cheddar went to the Irish Dairy Board. The award for best overseas cheddar creamery block went to Wexford Creamery Ltd.

The DuPont Danisco Trophy for best vegetarian cheese went to Wicklow Farmhouse Cheese.
