Chinese farmers to get greater land control to aid generational transfer

Chinese farmers are to be granted greater control over their land to encourage the generational transfer, president Xi Jinping has said.

The issue is also relevant in Ireland with a recent Macra na Feirme survey revealing 48% do not have a successor.

With China’s food and drinks imports escalating, Mr Xi believes land transfers would help modernise agriculture and give the country greater food independence.
