Parasite risk high in latter half of season

The most important parasites are stomach and gutworms along with lungworms, liver and rumen fluke. (www.animalhealthireland.ie is an excellent website for more info on these health problems).

Control measures for gut-worm include turning calves out onto clean pasture, and regular monitoring of performance, by weighing. Dung sampling for parasite eggs will enable your vet to advise on best anthelmintic options.
