MSc in food business strategy will ‘help support agri-food job creation’
Due to start in September, with content co-devised by UCD Smurfit School and UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science, the new MSc will give students a strategic perspective on developing food businesses.
“This new course will be valuable in equipping the next generation of food and drink industry employees with the insight to respond to ever changing industry trends,” said Mr Coveney.
Agri-food and drink firms employ 50,000 people and exported €10bn in goods to 160 countries in 2013. The sector’s ‘Food Harvest 2020’ report projects a 50% rise in milk output within seven years
Prof Ciarán Ó hÓgartaigh, dean of UCD Business, said: “The new course will equip graduates with the necessary skills for the domestic and international food and drink industry.”
