Bord Bia urges consumers to pick quality-assured bacon products

Bord Bia will capitalise on the pro-Irish sentiment that surrounds St Patrick’s Day, and urge consumers to watch out for its quality mark on ham and bacon products.

The message behind the trade board’s four-week campaign is to choose quality-assured ham and bacon when shopping as it is produced to Bord Bia’s highest standards and can be traced back to the farm.

Mintel consumer surveys show that in both the North and the Republic, bacon is the most commonly purchased type of meat.
