Big interest in top pasture farm
The farm is an executor’s sale and, while it has been let for some time, is now on the market, for sale in two lots, with Pat Maguire, of Pat Maguire Properties.
A sweet holding, it comes with excellent, south-facing and gently sloping pasture-land in a great location close to Clonakilty, Courtmacsherry and Lislevane.
In fact, it’s a short walk to the School Cross, at Lislevane village. Dunworley strand is about a mile and a half away, says Pat Maguire.
The farm is laid out in three, adjoining roadside blocks, and includes a traditional, three-bed farmhouse and old outhouses, which he’s prepared to sell separately, on three-quarters of an acre, for €100,000.
Pat Maguire said: “This is a magnificent residential farm holding, of 67 acres in three adjacent roadside blocks, and is a superb, south-facing, fertile land-holding.
“The residence is in need of renovation, but offers further potential with a range of outbuildings,” he said. “And it’s conveniently located a mile to the west of Lislevane village, on the main Clonakilty road, and close to Timoleague and Courtmacsherry.”
The land is expected to make €12,000 per acre, says Maguire, but, with high demand, that could go higher as land in an area of this quality doesn’t come for sale very often, he says.
In all, a price of €800,000 might be expected, if a prospective buyer were prepared to buy the property in the entire — but with three lots of land and the house on offer, in what could be said to be affordable lots, then there’s something on offer for everyone and interest should be good.
