One holding sold, another comes on the market
The property, at Milleens, Coolea, came in short of its guide price of €200,000, but is believed to have sold for a sum in the region of €170,000.
A 54-acre holding in the Gaeltacht, it has approximately 20 acres of good, arable ground according to Killian Lynch and the remainder in marginal land. The buyer is believed to be local.
And with another short, sharp sale in mind, Killian Lynch has also dropped the price of a large, 112-acre farm at Ummera, Macroom, from its initial guide of €800,000 for the entire, to a guide between €570,000 to €600,000.
“It has an outstanding situation — a big block of land outside the town and it’s very good value for that money,” says Lynch.
Approximately 20 acres of the land is under forestry and the remainder — some 80 to 90 acres — is good quality grazing, he says.
There’s 12 years of forestry premia with the sale and the location is just a mile from Macroom on the Coachford side, which makes it an easy commute to Cork city.
