The pto gear unit that can be switched under load has been realised for the first time. Depending on the engine load, switching takes place automatically between nominal pto shaft speed and eco shaft speed. This is an advantage when conditions require frequent changing of pto speed. The device expands the spectrum of the eco pto shaft applications considerably.
Same Deutz–Fahr won another silver medal for innovation at Agritechnica for its hydraulic engine brake concept. Unlike the conventional engine brake, the braking effect is achieved by choking the oil flows of the working hydraulics and at the same time closing the electronic visco coupling of the fan. Braking action is increased and the heated oil cooled.
