More that 90 people filled the room for the auction of a fine 76-acre farm at Ratharoon, Bandon, Co Cork — and those who were looking for sport and a bit of a story weren’t disappointed.

On the day, the land made a benchmark sum of €15,000 per acre in two lots.

The auction, which was conducted by John Hodnett and Ernest Forde of Hodnett Forde Auctioneers, attracted some good bidding.
