The Optifert soil nutrient sensor from Pessl Instruments of Austria has been awarded the silver medal at the prestigious Agritechnica show.

It offers potential to replace or complement the expensive and time-consuming process of sending soil samples to a laboratory for the soil nutrients to be determined.

It is believed to be the first mobile and user-friendly system on the market which allows measuring the concentrations of soil nutrients with laboratory quality, in the field, in real time.
