And the Macroom-based auctioneer has just sealed the deal on a 144-acre farm with a handsome, modern farmhouse a few miles up the road at Derrynasaggart, which made close to its revised guide price of €600,000, he says.

The buyer is believed to be local.

Meanwhile, the Milleens, Coolea farm offers a great location on the edge of the village and is low lying in parts and bounds the Sullane river close to its source, says Lynch.

The guide price is currently set at €200,000 and there has been good interest so far, says Lynch, with a current offer of €130,000 on the property, but further bids are expected on what’s seen as an opening offer.
