Irish food firms pick up Golden Fork awards

Marybelle Dairy’s Greek-style yogurt from East Anglia has been crowned Supreme Champion in Great Taste 2013, from a record 9,738 entries.

Irish hopefuls had to settle for Golden Fork awards, including best specialities from Ireland (Stonewell’s medium dry cider, made in Nohoval, Co Cork) and Northern Ireland (Hannan Meats’ salt-aged rack of Glenarm Shorthorn beef from Co Down).

The trophy for Small Artisan Producer of the Year went to Corleggy Cheeses of Co Cavan, for their port jelly cheese accompaniment.
