Apple tree leaves beautiful memories

A serenely graceful old apple tree is the queen of our old cottage garden. She is a Beauty of Bath, and a beauty indeed, through all the seasons of all the years.

We inherited her from Maisie Sheahen who lived in the thatched cottage for many years, before going to heaven in her time and season and leaving a trove of warm memories behind her through the whole parish.

Somehow, in a surreal kind of way, I feel that Maisie will never truly be gone from this earth for as long as the big strong tree whispers with the breezes that blow.
