A star cow from Co Down has broken the four-year dominance of Munster breeders in the Diageo Baileys Champion Irish cow competition.

Sahara Goldwyn Ambrosia 4 VG 89, a 4-year old Holstein Friesian, took the title at Virginia Show in Co Cavan. An estimated 15,000 people attended the 30th anniversary of the event.

The winning cow is owned by Neal Pepper, from Dromore, Co Down, and is only the second from Northern Ireland to take the prestigious title.
