Autumn another vital opportunity for reseeding
Early autumn (August) is usually the best time for reseeding pastures that are heavily infected with docks, bad grasses, and other weeds. Spraying a late crop of silage with glyphosate about 10 days before harvesting gives an ideal opportunity to give a good kill of these unwanted species, while also providing a crop of silage.
Direct seeding into a fine firm seedbed, which has been ploughed, tilled, and rolled, is a good, traditional method, and still popular.
