New Zetor Major lands in Ireland

The new Zetor Major has arrived in Ireland. Marketed as a few-frills, low-tech, value-for-money machine, it is aimed at owners of smaller, family-sized farms, and those in the market for a second run-around tractor, cheaper and less technically challenging to operate and maintain.

Free of complex electronics, in a market segment that currently accounts for close on 15% of tractor sales, the new 80hp, four-wheel-drive Major comes at an introductory price from €31,000, including VAT. It has a fully-synchronised, four-stage, 12 plus 12 gearbox, with three-stage reduction and reversing.

Mechanically regulated hydraulics have a lock function when transporting attachments. There is bi-sectional or single sectional switchgear, and a Dromone hitch and inclusive two-years warranty cover standard — with an option to buy warranty for an additional two years.

The cabin has a roof window, and can be retrofitted for air conditioning, radio and roof light.

A two-wheel-drive version powered by the same 80hp engine is expected later this year.

Zetor are determined to protect Ireland’s position as one of their top 10 markets worldwide, through a competitive approach to pricing, with reductions expected in some cases.

New dealer appointments are being made, including some where Zetor was not previously represented.
