Three-day course on energy crop management offered

A course on managing miscanthus, willow, canary and switch grasses energy crops will commence at Teagasc, Oak Park, Carlow, on Oct 17.

Three-day course on energy crop management offered

It is aimed at grower groups, agricultural consultants, financial institutions, farmers, local and regional authorities, government departments and policy makers, and insurance industry personnel.

Biomass, Renewable Energy, Short Rotation Coppice, the Energy Crops Scheme, are among the topics covered.

This three-day FETAC Level 6 Certificate in Energy Crop Management course will be offered on Oct 17 and 18 and Nov 7, and again on Oct 24 and 25 and Nov 8.

The course fee is €350.
