Rural event to provide €1m boost for regions

A ten-day celebration of rural life is expected to generate economic activity worth at least €1 million in north Cork and east Kerry.

The “Discover Duhallow – a Day of the Region” cultural, educational, sporting and enterprise activities are funded under the LEADER Rural Development Programme.

Groups in 21 communities will hold almost 70 events — including the golden jubilee celebrations of Freemount Macra na Feirme (tomorrow-July 22), and Banteer Agricultural Show (July 22).
