Girl sets up company to market safe scrub sprayer

Dingle girl Marie Ní Mháirtín, aged 17, has set up her MPM Safety Equip company to market the Safe Scrub Sprayer, which won her the Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2011 award.

She launched the product in January and has had it on display at agricultural shows and marts around the country. She devised it because her father got sick after using weed killer on scrub.

Marie says it makes spraying safer and healthier because it is adjusted from inside the tractor cab.
