New safety mentors

Selected farmers have been appointed safety mentors in the latest bid to reduce farm accidents.

Irish Rural Link and the Health and Safety Authority have appointed 12 farmers so far in Meath, Westmeath Longford and Cavan.

They will inform and educate farmers on how to maximise safety, through discussion groups and farm visits.
