30th birthday celebrations for Green Belt Ltd

Green Belt Ltd, Irelands leading private forestry company, is delighted to announce our 30th birthday celebrations.

Over the 30 years since our establishment in 1982 Green Belt has established 250,000 acres of privately owned forests for 7,000 farmers, institutional owners and investors.

We have been a key driver of the afforestation program in Ireland and are very proud of our achievements.

Our contribution over the years can be measured in terms of value and significant job creation.

The forest estate developed and managed by Green Belt is worth in excess of €1 billion and we employ more than 350 people per annum to plant and manage this estate.

Green Belt currently plant an average of 3,000 hectares of new forests, build 20km of forest roads and harvest in excess of 100,000 tonnes of timber each year.

An Taoiseach Enda Kenny speaking at the official launch of our 30th celebrations, accompanied by Minister Shane McEntee, was very optimistic about the prospects for the forest sector in Ireland and based on this optimism Green Belt look forward to its next 30 years of success.

At the launch of our 30th celebrations Mossie Ryan, Managing Director, stated that Green Belt has decided to mark this occasion by offering all customers who plant with Green Belt in the 2012 planting season and up to the end of June 2013 the chance to win a forest worth up to €110,000 over its lifetime (farmer premium plus future timber revenue).

Mr Ryan announced that “all customers who plant with Green Belt in this period will be entered into a draw”.

The winner of this draw will be entitled to become the registered owner of 10 acres of land which will be sourced, planted and managed by Green Belt.The winner will be the beneficiary of all premiums plus timber revenue generated by this forest over its lifetime. The location of the prize will be relative to the location of the prize winner and Green Belt will endevour to locate the prize within a 30 mile radius of the winner’s home address.

This is an incredibly attractive, tax efficient prize that yields short, medium and long term benefits to the eventual winner. Green Belt is very excited about launching this prize and urges you to get involved.
