Innovative plastic cow cubicle awards’ finalist
Designed for best cow comfort, enhanced animal safety, and improved dairy hygiene, the complete cubicle structure includes the brisket board, dividers and mat.
Marketed as the JFC Deluxe Cubicle, it is designed without a restrictive neck rail, seen as a major cause of problems with traditional cubicles.
The absence of a neck rail allows the cow to lie and rise in a natural manner, and this has been shown to encourage higher occupancy rate and longer lying periods.
Cow safety is enhanced by flexible plastic dividers reducing the risk of cow trapping and injury.
The design also takes into account optimum positioning for defecation onto the aisle, thereby improving dairy hygiene.
* As an Innovation Awards finalist, JFC wins a communications package prize worth at least €10,000.
Gabriel Scientific, which won the product innovation category, also won the overall communications and advertising package prize, worth €150,000, for a pillow designed to reduce the risk of hospital-acquired infections from contaminated bedding.
