Major Expansion for Machinery Event
First off we take a preview of one of Irelands most established events.
This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Spring Farm Machinery Show in the Green Glens Arena Millstreet. Currently over 110 exhibitors are preparing to showcase their products and services at one of Ireland’s longest running and best established indoor shows. Last year’s event proved particularly popular with large attendance figures and a great atmosphere in general firming this show as the number one annual agri event in Munster. At this stage over 130,000 square feet of this heated arena is sold out and organisers have had to add on a marquee. Exhibitors nationwide are making frantic final preparations before going on site to build their stands.
This year’s core exhibition highlights are set to include lots of new launches for 2012. As it’s the first event of the year over 300 products and services will be on display providing plenty to interest both livestock and arable farmers and contractors alike. This is the industry and public’s first chance to get up close to 2012 product ranges. Early signs are good that farmers have money to spend this year. With more finance companies and manufacturers now offering competitive lending packages the organisers are confident 2012 will be a more positive year.
Andrew Short of AJS Promotions commented, “Timing is everything and it’s for this reason we have scheduled this event at a time of year when farmers and contractors really want to invest in new technology and new thinking”.

Our show will offer a comprehensive gathering of the top brand names in the industry displaying the most recent technological advancements as well as the tried and tested favourites, all under one roof.”
In other updates car parking at the event is free but show attendees are also encouraged to use public transport, which is an effective method of transport to the event. Iarnrod Éireann run a train service to Millstreet, which stops less than a mile from the Green Glens Arena. Bus Éireann also run a cheap daily service that will drop patrons at the Malpasso Bar in Millstreet just minutes from the venue.
The show will be open from 12noon to 10pm on Wednesday 18th & Thursday 19th January.
