NEWS of the death of John Myers, aged 93, former chief executive of Ballyclough Co-op, now part of Dairygold Co-op, was received with sadness across the Irish dairy industry.

He was recognised for playing a significant role in the development and growth of the industry, over 44 years.

Mr Myers, a farmer’s son from Co Limerick, was educated at the Glenroe national school and the Christian Brothers School in Doneraile.
