AGRICULTURE Minister Simon Coveney has made a commitment to keep the reopened targeted agricultural modernisation schemes (TAMS) open for new applications for the next two years, until the current rural development programme ends.

However, the number of projects approved will be subject to funding limits.

And the sow welfare scheme will close for applications on June 30, because the new EU animal welfare standards for sows enter into force on January 1, 2013.
