‘Outside’ Roscommon farm with quota of 161,563 gallons

MILK will run south. More than 25% of milk production is in Co Cork, and auctioneer Eamonn O’Brien, of CCM, says the dairy industry will only strengthen in Munster on the back of milk quota from other regions.

Prices in the milk quota trading scheme have spiked strongly in the southern counties.

The CCM agent is bringing an “outside farm” to market in the south — a 65-acre holding at Boyle, Co Roscommon, which comes with a hefty quota of 161,563 gallons.
