Helping others is the best gift at Christmas

We plan and buy and strive to make our loved-ones happy for the festive season, but celebrate too the volunteers who share their time with the less fortunate, says Denise Hall

THERE can be no denying — or ignoring — it any longer. We are now in one of the busiest, most magical and emotionally charged times of year.

Yes, the run-up to Christmas is here, and people with a determined look in their eyes are beginning to flood the shops, wandering the aisles in the hope of finding that perfect — and hopefully affordable — gift.
