Opposition to VAT increase

“AGRI AWARE strongly oppose the proposed 21% VAT charges on admissions to Open Farms,” was the comment from Bernard Donohue, chairman of Agri Aware.

"These open farms are not only promoting our agri-food industry which plays a pivotal role in our economy, they are also providing a venue for our future industry leaders, our students, to learn.”

Bernard Donohue, raised this issue at the launch of the new second level Agricultural Science textbook Pastures New in Family Farm last week, with Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney.
