There are 250 Macra members in the Avondhu region, in five clubs.
Fermoy will be number six, and will aim to emulate Mitchelstown Macra, only one year old, but already the Best Emerging Club title winner in this year’s AIB Club of the Year competition.
So watch our for an imminent announcement of the first Fermoy Macra meeting.
Freemount Macra members say thanks to all those who helped them celebrate their recent AIB Club of the Year win, to Mary Barry and the staff of Barry’s pub for all their help, and DJ Hannon, who kept the crowd on the floor all night. Partying went on until the small hours — and picked up again at last weekend’s Freemount Macra Mystery Tour.
Freemount members took part in Shannonside Macra’s Christmas Table Quiz at Aunty Lena’s Pub in Adare, and their two teams took the winners’ and runner-up’s prizes back to north Cork.
Daniel Roche, Ciara Coffey, Honora Kelliher, Niall McQuillan and Sinéad Kiely were the brainy winners.
The Freemount Macra sports night takes place every Monday night in Meelin Hall from 7pm to 8.30pm. All are welcome, fee is €6.!
Freemount members recently filled boxes for Team Hope’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal. The club collected 30 shoeboxes which will be delivered to needy children.
