€1m guide price ahead of November 17 auction

JOINT agents Halley Grace and Margaret Harty of Harty and Co are selling a tillage, grazing and forestry farm at Carrickaready, Kill, Co Waterford.

Described as a prime 118-acre roadside farm, it will go to public auction on November 17, with a pre-auction guide price of €1 million — but the agents are open to offers.

It’s an outside farm, and the owner is consolidating, hence the sale, and it comes with an annual premium income of €4,225, for 28.5 acres of forestry. This was planted in 1998, and the payment runs out in 2018, to be followed by sale of the timber crop.

The remainder includes 40 acres of prime tillage ground, says Margaret Harty, now in stubble, while 50 acres are described as undulating, rich pasture.

The farm is well sheltered and has great views of the Comeragh Mountains.

It is bounded on one side by the River Mahon, while also having extensive road frontage.

It’s two miles north of Bonmahon, two miles from Kill, and 13 miles from Waterford city.
