National recognition for Kevin Dillon
Acknowledging Dillon’s lifetime dedication to the Holstein Friesian breed, National Dairy Show Director Tom Baker also acknowledged the contribution of Kevin’s wife Marie, and their family.
Born in Duagh, Co Kerry, Dillon worked for the Department of Agriculture. He moved to Clonakilty, where he made his own bit of Cork-Kerry GAA history by playing senior football for Cork for four years. Kevin established two farm enterprises, a pig farm and the Mountcarmel pedigree herd, and worked as a sales adviser for the CBS bovine genetics company.
He took on the job of Irish Holstein Friesian Association secretary, and then became IHFA’s first chief executive, until his retirement two years ago.
