Softening milk prices warning

GERMANY is very resistant to efforts to negotiate a butterfat flexibility which would add 1% to 2% to Ireland’s milk quota, said Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney at the National Dairy Show.

“Try to stay within quota the best you can,” he advised dairy farmers at Millstreet. He warned of “softening” milk prices in 2012, but said the longer term market trend remains positive.
