ALTHOUGH not yet confirmed, there is a local rumour that a farm at Stradbally, Co Waterford is sold.

The private treaty sale only hit the market in mid-summer, and while selling agents Harty and Co were unavailable for comment, it seems they have an early result for the renowned farm.

The same agent is also selling a 60-acre property near Youghal, Co Cork, for offers in the region of €15,000 an acre. It has a particularly picturesque location over the Blackwater, with a fine farmhouse. It is on offer at €900,000, says Margaret Harty, and includes a range of stone outbuildings and four-span hay shed with slatted units and lean-to.
