Jump show best since the 1980s
All 32 counties will be represented at the free admission event, which insiders say will feature the highest standard of showjumping seen in Cork since the 1980s.
The three national competitions featured over the Saturday and Sunday come with a total prize fund of more than €30,000.
The two-day event will cater for classes from Sportmans on Saturday and Sunday to Newcomer Ponies on Sunday, with 40 competitions being run in total. On Saturday there will be warm-up qualifiers for the Premier Grand Prix, the Horse Sport Ireland National five-year-old qualifier and the Horse Sport Ireland National 6/7-year-old qualifier, the finals of these will be held on Sunday.
Also there is a Munster Grand Prix as a separate competition on Saturday afternoon. The Cork Summer Show four-year-old Championship final sponsored by the Munster Agricultural Society will take place on Sunday.
Other activities on Sunday include The Ballincollig Farmers Market and Terrier Racing held on Sunday afternoon. Following on the success of The Cork Summer Show two weeks ago there will be free parking and free admission to the public at the Greenfields site just off the Ballincollig by-pass.
