Ideal grazing land to sell
Kelly has set a price reserve of €940,000 for the 75-acre property situated at Meelcon, prior to auction on Wednesday, June 8. The residential farm comes with a modern, five-bed bungalow in excellent condition, he says, and the property is well laid out and easy to manage.
The house and farmyard are off the main road, and the farm is bisected by a public road, giving plenty of road frontage onto all paddocks.
“It has loads for road frontage, every acre of it can be accessed from the road. It has a turn-key, modern residence, and good quality land, which had been in dairy up to five or six years ago, and was renowned for its milk production,” says Kelly.
An executor’s sale, the property will go to auction at the Lantern’s Hotel, Tarbert, and it’s expected there will be a large attendance because the farm is well-known.
The land would be ideal for someone looking to expand their herd locally. Good-quality, level ground, it’s ideal for grazing, and is in large paddocks in two blocks.
The land hasn’t been leased, and hasn’t been farmed for the last year. Most of the poorer sections have been sold off for forestry, so there is absolutely no waste in the property, the agent says.
The farm is being offered in its entirety, including the four-bed farmhouse, and the location is superb, overlooking the Shannon river just three miles from Tarbert.
The yard includes old stone buildings, a garage and storage sheds.
Kelly says it’s a rare opportunity to acquire an excellent residential farm.
