The location between two major routes, the New Ross-Enniscorthy N30 road and the New Ross-Wexford N25 road, is expected to ease traffic problems.

The ploughing attracts an average attendance of 180,000, and more than 1,000 exhibitors. It is likely to bring upwards of €15m into the local economy, much of it for accommodation providers within a 30-mile radius.

Co Wexford last staged the event in 1998 at Ballycarney, Ferns.
